The College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) Building is a 35,000-square-foot facility with 20-state-of-the art classrooms and a conference room that can host up to 300 people. The outdoor courtyard enhances the teaching and learning environment with café-style seating, Wi-Fi access, and charging stations. The second and third floors have additional seating and work areas.
The conference room and classrooms are available to rent for both campus and external groups. CPaCE will review and approve all requests for rental space in conjunction with the appropriate campus oversight and support personnel.

CPaCE Conference Room
The College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) facility has three conference rooms, each with a maximum capacity of 50 guests, with the option to combine the rooms for a maximum capacity of 300 guests.

Standard Set-Up
Each room is set up with 25 rectanglular tables and 50 chairs. All rooms are equipped with the following:
- Projector
- Screen
- DVD Player
- Apple TV
- Wireless microphone (either handheld or lapel upon request)
- Cable bundle with VGA/audio cable, HDMI cable, and a ring with multiple adapters for use with your laptop
- Whiteboards are ONLY available in rooms 100B and 100C.
Alternate Set-Ups
Maximum capacity will vary depending on setup
- Combination of all three rooms with tables and chairs will accommodate up to 150 guests.
- Chairs only will seat a maximum capacity of 100 per room and up to 300 if all three rooms are used.
Set-up/breakdown - $75/hr. additional fee for a minimum of two hours will be charged for the following:
- If a different room configuration is requested other than standard setup.
- If all three rooms are used – Fee is charged due to removal of partitions, AV cabinets, and the reorganization of tables and chairs.
- If other tables other than rectangle (Round tables) are requested.
Round/Cocktail Tables
Round or cocktail tables are not included with the rental and/or reservation of the space. In order to get these types of tables, we will need to work with a rental company. This option requires us to have purchase order in place with purchasing prior to the event.
A delivery and rental fee will be charged to all (internal and external parties). A minimum of three weeks’ notice is required if round/cocktail tables will be used.
Click here for details on campus-approved catering services. Only CSULB's Beach Catering has a key and code to the kitchen pantry. All other caterers will have to make arrangements with event planner to get in conference rooms. Non-approved caterers must be arranged through the Purchasing department, and an additional surcharge will be applied set by Purchasing.
Alcohol
- Libations may be sold or served only by the Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. Please see Catering website for further information.
- Libations are only allowed inside the building.
Parking is not included with your reservation. Arrangements can be made for your guests prior to your event.

The following details apply to the Foundation parking lot (across the street from the CPIE building):
- Starting on July 1, 2019, the daily parking fee for the Foundation lot will be $10.
- Please let us know in advance if you will be comping your guests for parking, so that we can properly bill your department.
- Please let us know if your guests will be paying for parking themselves so that we can notify the parking booth attendants.
- If Foundation parking will be arranged or used, we need to know how many spots approximately, so that we can make sure we have enough space in the lot.

Wi-Fi is available as follows:
- On-campus guests (staff, faculty, and students) can log in to the wi-fi by using their MyCSULB Single Sign-On credentials.
- Off-campus guests must have their department technicians submit an IT request to CSULB campus network services to obtain one-day log-in credentials.
- We can schedule to meet before the start of your event to go over the AV equipment and the operation of lights and windows, but we will not stay for the duration of your event.
- Technical support is available upon request for an additional fee of $20 pp/hr.
CPaCE Classrooms
​CSULB Campus Departments wishing to use the CPaCE classroom facility will need to fill out the CPaCE Building Initial Request form.
The CPaCE Building has 20 smart classrooms available upon request and based on availability.
- Small classroom – Maximum capacity 21
- Large classroom - Maximum capacity 32
All classrooms are equipped with the following:
- Projector
- Computer
- Blu-ray player
- Apple TV
- Cable bundle with VGA/audio cable, HDMI cable, and a ring with multiple adapters for use with your laptop.
Hourly rates for the rental of each classroom are:
- CSULB campus groups: $20.00
- Non-CSULB external groups: $50.00
Additional fees will be assessed for the following:
- Early opening (before 8am) and late closing (after 5pm) of the facility.
- Wages for additional personnel required because of or for the function.
- Housekeeping charges as deemed necessary by management.
- University Police charges, if deemed necessary by management.
- Failure to cancel a meeting at least two (2) business days in advance, if the function cannot be held as scheduled (charges will also be assessed for any special set-ups that were completed prior to receipt of the cancellation notice).
- Failure to comply with University, State and local policies or regulations will null and void any future scheduling agreements.
- Failure to leave the facility in its original configuration/order and clean.
- Damage to property or equipment while under control of the sponsoring organization.
Reservation Policies and Procedures
The availability of facilities and space on the CSULB campus plays an important role in advancing the mission and goals of the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE). CPaCE is responsible for the scheduling, management, and usage of its facilities, as well as several outdoor spaces.
Subject to scheduling policies, procedures, and priorities, CPaCE building space may or may not be available, depending on when major campus-wide activities are being planned. CPaCE staff will assign the most suitable spaces for the particular course or program, based upon information provided about the intended use.
Sustainability Features
The CPaCE building is certified with an energy-neutral LEED Platinum® status, which means the structure produces an equal amount of energy to offset what it consumes. These features include an automated temperature control system, solar panels, electric windows, high-efficiency LED lighting, and low-flow water fixtures.
